Fuel price hike will not be rolled back: PM

PM Manmohan Singh has ruled out a rollback of the fuel price hike announced, stressing that such a step would have a disastrous impact on the country's economy.

Petrol price up by Rs 2 | BJP for nationwide stir

The government decided to hike petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2 and Re 1 a litre respectively from Thursday tonight to curb losses of public sector oil companies.
Raj Thackeray was granted conditional bail on Wednesday evening for a sum of Rs 15,000. Earlier in the day Thackeray and Azmi had been arrested.
After the violence, 15% of the industries, all of them small-scale units, have been shut and about 40% affected badly.
Singer Carla Bruni on Wednesday described their love-affair as instantaneous, said her husband was much misunderstood, and pledged they would be together "until death".
In a significant development, a few leading private sector banks have begun to cough up a portion of their non-performing home loans to Arcil.
